If you’re on my mailing list, you know that I love to offer oracle card readings in my newsletters. It’s so much fun, and I have a wonderful time picking out which deck I’m going to use for the reading. I’ve been reading cards since my mother taught me how to do a basic tarot spread when I was 11 years old, and it’s a wonderful way to get reassurance or clarity when I feel like I need it.
It’s fun and easy to give yourself an oracle reading whenever you want guidance. It takes less than a minute! Shuffle the deck while thinking of your question, and then open the deck somewhere in the middle (or wherever you’re drawn to choose a card) and there’s your answer! If you’ve done a good job focusing on the question, you should get a card with a message that you clearly understand in relation to the question you asked.
I’m going to provide links to Hay House or Amazon where you can get some of these decks. If you’re willing to wait until the holiday season, Hay House has a special $5 sale on many of their decks. That’s when I like to stock up.
#1 – The Sacred Traveler Oracle Deck by Denise Linn
Right now, this is my #1 favorite! I got it in December of last year and haven’t been able to put it down. It’s always next to me on my desk. I relate to it because of the travel theme throughout. I love the idea that life is a journey, and every mood, event, challenge, and triumph is like visiting a particular destination. Every time I’ve used this deck, I get a very accurate picture of where I am and how to proceed.
#2 – Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue
The guidance in this deck is very loving. I gave this deck as a gift to my mother and it’s one of her favorites as well. The secret to getting really accurate messages is to concentrate on your question and genuinely ASK as you shuffle. And if you don’t have a question? Simply ask, “What’s the most important message for me to receive today?”
#3 – Wild Kuan Yin Oracle by Alana Fairchild
The artwork on these cards is simply that — WILD! I feel a deep connection to the images here. The deck comes with a book of descriptions, but I warn you: the descriptions are quite lengthy, and you could be reading for 15 minutes just to get one message from one of the cards. If that doesn’t bother you, I would add these to your collection. There’s a lot of beautiful wisdom in here.
I like to choose a card for the day and then display it by my computer where I can see it and be reminded.
Today I used the Goddess Guidance Oracle:
I am always adding new decks. Stay tuned for more! Have fun reading!
